today i had some enjoyable moments:
1. the sun was (and still is) shining
2. while i was driving to work in the morning i decided to put my new FREE cd that i got from work into the car's cd player. our car's cd player is very finicky and usually doesn't play the cd's i want it to play but this morning it worked - just like that! how nice.
3. i remembered a funny thing from yesterday when i was driving to work...i saw a big brown cow grazing by the side of the road - with no fences. cool, i thought - but then what if it decided to run out onto the road and someone hits it? what a mess. although i've never really seen big cows run - they kind of amble more than anything. i suppose if it really wanted to it could probably run quite fast. faster than me, probably. i'm a pretty slow creature.
4. at work i got to rearrange things to my heart's content. jason and i love to rearrange. if you ever come to our house and then come again a few months later there will probably be something different. in fact, we rearranged jason's office just a few weeks ago and it feels much roomier now.
5. i had decided earlier that i was going to get the oil changed in the car. this in itself was not so enjoyable but when i surprised jason later and gave him the receipt i was enjoying myself very much. (we had been talking about how we needed to get the oil changed and he thought i should do it since i usually drive the car to work but i didn't want to...) so i decided to go to the great canadian oil change - more expensive maybe but quick and easy. so i drove up, they opened the door and i drove in. i was nervous that i wouldn't get the car in the right position over the hole in the floor - and sure enough, i had to reverse, move left, move left more, more, reverse, etc...embarassing but manageable. then the real embarassment started. when i went to open the hood nothing happened. i was pulling on the little lever as hard as i could without breaking it, and still nothing. finally a guy that worked there came and looked and he was like, "oh, that's to open the trunk. THIS lever is for the hood" and he popped it open no problem... i knew the one that opened the trunk was broken so you'd think something would've clicked for me earlier, but no. i just kept yanking on it, waiting for something to happen, and felt like a big fool afterwards. but more importantly, i did get the oil changed all by myself for the first time, so that's a good thing.
6. i found a new nancy drew book at value village. i collect the old hard cover editions - kind of weird, i know, but i like it. it's book 51, THE MYSTERY OF THE GLOWING EYE, and i don't think i've ever read it. so mom, add that one to your list of books not to get me. haha - yes, my mom buys me nancy drew books and i'm 24 years old - isn't that great?! :)
7. i also went shopping and got some new clothes which is always fun. you know, i used to hate shopping but somewhere along the line i've morphed into a typical shopping female...
8. i also bought some groceries and i got two things that weren't on my list. i think it is very essential to occasionally buy some things that are not on the list. so today i bought a small package of liverwurst - which i really like although liver itself is just about the worst food in the world- and a container of roasted red pepper cream cheese. tasty.
9. we're going to have wraps for supper. yay.
10. it's 5:30 and i have the rest of the evening off to do whatever! sometimes i very much enjoy whatever.
i hope you all have a day as enjoyable as mine! this is karina signing off.

oh dear, i miss you very much. this post made me laugh outloud a bunch of times. can't wait to see you!!!!
simon, canned shrimp is so good if you make that kind of dip/spread for chips or whatever using seafood sauce and cheese and sourcream and maybe some chopped up tomatoes and yellow/red peppers all layered on a plate/pan and also put the shrimp on it. yum yum. i forget what that kind of dip is called. do you know what i mean? oh it has cream cheese in it also. sometimes in cookbooks it's called a surprise dip i think, but that's not its only name, i don't think...
