this week our hot water tap in the bathtub finally broke. let me tell you how it happened. since about august or so it had been getting harder and harder to turn the hot water tap. this occasionally made me grouchy because i do like hot showers, and i also do like some decent water pressure for my hot shower. plus, some days i couldn't even turn the water off all the way so it would just keep dripping...so of course we called our landlord and informed him of the problem, and he said he'd get a plumber in to take a look at it. (he's so used to us calling with problems in the house that when he answers our phone calls he usually starts off by saying something like, "so what's wrong now...")
it is now october...no plumber. so on wednesday i was just deciding to go have a shower when jason got up and also decided to shower. i, being the kind and loving wife that i am, asked pretty please if i could shower first. he, being the very kind and very loving husband that he is, agreed. so i had a pretty good shower - hot, and the pressure was not bad. then, wanting to make sure i turned the water off all the way, i guess (oops) i tried too hard and the tap just kept turning around and around and making a funny clicking sound...but at least i turned it off, right? let's look on the bright side here. unfortunately, jason never got his shower that day...
it is simply amazing how quickly you can get a plumber when something is actually broken. that was my lesson for the week - not that i'm going to go around breaking things now, but you know... i called our landlord after the tap broke that morning and informed him that it had finally quit working for good. and by about 2:30 that afternoon the plumber had come and gone and everything was working like new. incredible. jason had two showers yesterday to make up for the one he missed. it's all good :)

I think maybe I should get a landlord like yours, at least when something is broken, it gets fixed! Our toilet was broken for a full two weeks before it got fixed:) I spend a lot of time away from home:)
Right on Rina!(Am I allowed to call you that? My new habit has become shortening peoples names for kicks! Leah loves it, as she has become Lee-Lee!!haha) I was pretty pumped about Jason showering twice the next day! It was like the denouement!
about the toilet - that is awful cordella. wow.
john, (that's weird - i don't ever call you that), you can call my rina if i can call you jolly...which i do :)
yes. it's good advice, i thought.
