it's monday. actually quite a good monday. and i actually like that song...you know, 'rainy days and mondays always get me down' by the carpenters...sing it with me now :)
it's not raining though, which is good. rainy days do get me down sometimes. today was sunny, and so i did some yard work in the afternoon and picked a bunch of marigold seeds from the dried out marigolds along the house. it reminded me of my mom. she always does that. i like planting the seeds from the flowers i planted the year before from the seeds from the flowers i planted the year before from the seeds from the flowers i planted the year before...it's a good feeling.
in church on sunday an older gentleman in our congregation stood up to share. he told a story about a little girl and a dandelion, and how the dandelion went from yellow to gray. we are like the dandelion, he said - our lives move on and suddenly we are old, just like that. and so we pray, 'father, hold me in your strong, strong arms and remind me that i'm your child.' he repeated that prayer three times i think, and all the while our pastor had his arm around him so he could stand up tall and not shake too badly. remember your creator in the days of your youth...He has set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end...
