ramblings

we just got back from a pastor's retreat at the Quest at Christopher Lake, and it was a good time. the speaker was david macfarlane, who was very funny and also very imaginative. at one time he actually had a christmas event in a church in toronto that he was pastoring where they brought in a bunch of live animals, including ducks, chickens, sheep, a donkey, and a camel...and lots of pooper scoopers, probably. can you imagine a camel in your church? i can't really. it would be funny though.

we stayed in a little cabin for the retreat that had a main room and two bedrooms. in the other bedroom was a couple called bob and betty capelle from herbert, who jason knows quite well because they used to live in meadow lake. they are big pranksters. i found a lovely log under my mattress and wanted to concoct some elaborate plan to get back at them...but didn't. so we left the log in our cabin and maybe next year we will be inspired.

so we are back for two days and then we head off to winnipeg and niverville to see my cousin get married on sunday. i'm looking forward to seeing my family and my sister is coming here from south korea because she is in the wedding party. how wonderful.

so i'm not working much these days with all that's going on and the longer i stay away the harder it is to want to go back...sometimes i think it would be so lovely not to work at all, but i'm sure after a week or two i would be so completely bored. plus what would i read if i quit my job at scott's?? i think i will have to work there for the rest of my life to feed my addiction. or else become a church librarian :)

right now i am procrastinating going to bed. and we haven't even unpacked anything from the retreat. i really dislike unpacking. all the clothes in your bag, even the ones you didn't wear (yes, i bring along too many clothes - although this time all that was extra was socks and underwear - pretty good, hey?) feel cold and dirty so i usually end up washing them all. wow. so much rambling going on.

i'm going to go eat something.

KaRINA! jolly here! Or maybe not so jolly... and that's only because this country can't get its sleeping hours straight! I am excited to hear about the log under your blanket and thinking that its a fantastic idea, might try it on my wife! (I know what your saying: "But that's his bed too!" and to that...I have no answer. Well I am gald your doing well and that Jason is still pastoring away! Pretty exciting stuff! Do you ever call him Reverend? or 'the Rev'? man The possibilities are endless! Give him a big hi from me! Life out in the middle east is good, although frustrating at times (depending on how well my class goes)! And Leah is also well! Hey You guys haven't met have you? I should introduce you sometime! Well I guess this isn't email, so I'd better stop talking! Hope Everything is well!-jolly

no, i'm not really calling you weird. i'm just saying that if dad thinks we're weird, he should take a look at where we might have received the weird genes from in the first place... :)
