happy birthday to my baby! carter was born on june 6, 2008, weighing in at 5 lbs 7 oz and 19.25 inches long. he came 4.5 weeks early (due date july 7) and surprised us all...and i imagine he'll keep surprising us for the rest of his life :)
we decided to take a picture of carter with his giraffe on the 6th of every month for the first year of his life. it seemed so huge compared to him at the beginning...these first two are carter at one month old.
two months old: still smaller than the giraffe but definitely filling out! he gained two pounds a month for the first few months so it didn't take him long to catch up.
three months:
four months:
five months: starting to get big. i think around 5-6 months is when i suddenly realized carter wasn't so tiny anymore.
six months: starting to sit up.
seven months: almost ready to sit up on his own, but the giraffe is a little precarious :)
eight months:
nine months:
ten months: he is now officially sick of posing with the giraffe. :)
eleven months: hey, this is more fun :)
these last three are of carter at twelve months, on his birthday: mmm, tasty.
i can't believe how much bigger than the giraffe he is now! amazing.
we love you carter jason :)

Thanks for posting all the month pictures! It's so amazing to track his progress and see how time flies, especially for little guys like Carter...I can't wait to see you guys! Less than two months!!

Great idea of using the giraffe as a "growth chart!" All the pictures are SO cute. You've got a very handsome, not-so-little-anymore, man there :)
