this was a lovely fall day when the ladybugs were frolicking in abundance. carter delighted to join in ... unfortunately for the ladybugs, i should add. bugs in general can often outmaneuver a toddler's little fingers, but if they let down their guard for a second, they're toast. and ladybugs, sadly for them, are not very fast, especially on a cool day. the result was death by squishing, poking, smearing, or sometimes by 'hmm, i wonder what that tastes like ... i think i'll put it in my mouth' (mommy says yuck and tries to save the poor thing but it's probably too late).

We kept a jar of ladybugs in our house - they were Ollie's pets!
Those poor little ladies. But if I were squished to death between fingers are cute as those, I probably wouldn't even mind :)
