O radiant Dawn

O radiant Dawn,
splendor of eternal light, sun of justice:
Come, shine on those who dwell in darkness
and the shadow of death.

"Dawn emerges out of night, and the first cry of life comes from the pain of childbirth. Only through the Cross is our new life revealed. Only out of the hard ground of winter can new life come."
(God With Us, p. 112)

Picture Jesus, the 'radiant Dawn', speaking to you:

""Arise, my darling,
my beautiful one, and come with me.
See! The winter is past;
the rains are over and gone.
Flowers appear on the earth;
the season of singing has come,
the cooing of doves is heard in our land...

My dove in the clefts of the rock,
in the hiding places on the mountainside,
show me your face,
let me hear your voice;
for your voice is sweet,
and your face is lovely.""
(Song of Songs 2:10-12, 14)
