Spring at the Zoo

Spring is so lovely (good sigh) and so short (sad sigh).  Today we took our first trip to the zoo for the season, and it was Anderson's first real trip of his life there as well (he went once before when he was six weeks old or something but that doesn't really count).  Carter was excited and kept saying things like "Wow!" or  "Look at that, mommy!"  Springtime at the zoo is especially nice because it's cool enough that lots of the animals are out and about rather than just being lazy and sleeping in the shade like they do in the summer.  There are also zoo babies in the spring (although not many just yet - maybe in a month or so there will be more).  So we added our babies to the mix for a fun morning :)

the elk are in a long enclosure and usually they are way down at the other
end where we can't see them but today they were right there!
