hey. it's been awhile but much exciting and not so exciting stuff has happened. let's start with not so exciting: 1. sewer back-up. our poor little house has been breaking us in these last weeks. this is an experience i hope not to have to repeat. jason did most of the clean up and so that makes him the best husband in the world. well, he already was the best husband in the world but sometimes we wives just need a little reminder :) 2. both of our youth retreats were postponed. this was sort of exciting but sort of not. now i probably won't be able to make it to the retreats when they are rescheduled since i had already booked time off for the original dates. but on the upside, we did get two free weekends out of the deal and we didn't have to spend two weekends being cold, wet, and dirty. plus, it was our fifth anniversary one of those weekends so we actually got to go out on our anniversary for the second year in a row! but i'm getting ahead of myself because that should be in the exciting category rather than in the not so exciting category. 3. our oven/stove keeps beeping (really loudly and erratically) and so we can't use it much, which makes it hard to eat. you can only have so many hot dogs and sandwiches. the repair people only come out on certain days and of course the oven decides to act like a perfect angel on those days so they can't figure out what's wrong. then after they've left the little devil starts acting up again.
ok. so now for the exciting things: 1. as i said we got to celebrate our fifth anniversary so we went to the station place. the food was excellent and plus we had a gift certificate so it was mostly free. how much better can a date get. 2. my only and dearest sister got engaged and she's getting married in november! finally i won't be the only married sibling in my family anymore. we are so excited to meet darcey, her fiance. and jason is doing the ceremony so that is exciting too. yay! so we are flying out which is also exciting. 1.5 hours to fly instead of 9 hours to drive. 3. it snowed yesterday. this is exciting because it was the first snow. it didn't stick around of course but that's ok. wouldn't want it to get icy...

He is from Niverville- I probably spelt that incorrectly!- He has four kids and is doing his PHD at the U of C! Pretty neat! he's in his 40's and I think he knows you guys! - Right arm! Say hello to jason! (I have a baby!)
hey john. that name doesn't ring a bell but i haven't lived there for awhile so maybe i do know him...i don't know. say hello to leah and your baby!
I would have put the snow in the not so exciting category...
That must have been so annoying to have the sewer back up (and gross) Old houses are so stupid sometimes.
Glad you guys got away on your anniversary! Hope you are having a good week and that your oven gets fixed soon :)

you know - if your stove is too loud, feel free to come here for dinner - not saying i'll always prepart it, but a few extra people would be FUN until you get your stove fixed...i've also had TOO many hotdogs & i don't like sandwiches! well, except for ones from Grandma Lee's. Ok, i'll go now...
